What Have The Two Teams Done Recently?
Australia Women
Overall, Australia Women have a 131-51 win-loss record in this format which gives them the second-best win-loss ratio among Full Member nations in women’s cricket. They also enter this game on the back of nine successive wins in T20I cricket, including two earlier in this tournament.
They have won 12 of their last 13 games, giving them a bit of an invincible cloak with their only loss in 2024 having come at the hands of South Africa in Canberra in January.
Pakistan Women
Pakistan entered this year’s Women’s T20 World Cup on the back of a semifinal defeat in the Women’s Asia Cup to Sri Lanka and a 1-2 home loss in a three-match series against South Africa Women.
They then surprised Sri Lanka in their opener before losing to India Women in their previous match.
Overall, Pakistan are 70-99 on win-loss in their career, while in 2024 they have won just five of their 16 T20Is.

Quick Australia v Pakistan Women’s T20 World Preview
Australia Women had come into this tournament as the favourites and two games into the competition there’s been enough on display to suggest it would be very difficult to dislodge them from the perch.
In their opener, they took 14.2 overs to chase down Sri Lanka’s 93 for seven before they crushed New Zealand Women by a whopping 60 runs in the second encounter.
Pakistan, on the other hand, did make a decent start to the Women’s T20 World Cup with a shock win over Sri Lanka Women but things settled down quickly against India. They were restricted to 105 for eight before India chased it down in the 19th over.
They will take some positives even from that loss but against a team like Australia, things are bound to get that much tougher. And unless the Fatima Sana-led team can find a way to put up some runs on the board, this is headed only one way.
All Eyes On
Nida Dar had top-scored against India Women but her team needs her to score even more than the 28 she got there. Australia have a solid core of batters and bowlers with Ash Gardner having yet to come to the party. Expect her to turn things around.
