What Have The Teams Done Recently?
Canada
Canada’s performances in the recently-concluded T20 World Cup were nothing to write home about.
Sure, they defeated the much more fancied Irish side but losses to the USA and Pakistan gave an insight about their issues at the highest level. They were also coming off a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of USA just before the T20 World Cup.
And that looked to have continued in their opener here against Netherlands where they were easily mowed down by Netherlands who chased down 153 in 16.1 overs.
They got a point after their match against USA in this tri-series was rained off. And they looked like they were on the verge of another defeat when they 35/6 against Netherlands but a brilliant all-round performance from former captain Saad Bin Zafar pulled them through to a shock win.

They had entered this tournament having done exceedingly well at the T20 World Cup having made the Super Eights stage in that competition at the expense of Pakistan whom they defeated in the Super Over.
Thereafter they lost all three of their matches.
Their match against Canada was abandoned because of rain and while they weren’t quite the favourites going into their encounter against Netherlands, they were so roundly beaten – by 102 runs no less – that it looks like they need some reinforcements.

Unlike in the ODIs, there has been a struggle for the Dutch side in the T20I format. Coming into this series, they had lost six of their last seven games with their only win having come in the T20 World Cup against Nepal.
They looked to have turned things around in the first game here with wins over Canada and USA in the first leg of this tri-series. They had no difficulties chasing down Canada’s 153, losing five wickets and with 23 balls to spare and then hammered USA by 102 runs in their next game.
Netherlands were stunned by Canada in the fourth game of the series with the hosts failing to chase down 133.
