What Have The Two Teams Done Recently?
South Africa Women
Before the start of this competition, there were161 matches that South Africa Women have been a part of in this format and they had won 70 and lost 84 of them.
Since the start of this year, South Africa had a win-loss of 5-6 which includes victories over India, Australia and Sri Lanka, making them a dangerous side on their day.
And they continued to impress here with a win over West Indies Women but then lost to England in their second game.
Scotland Women
Scotland Women are 35-25 on their overall win-loss with the obvious caveat in that being they have won a lot of their matches against the lower-ranked nations.
In 2024, they have won six matches to go with their four defeats but more vitally they have faced only Sri Lanka and Bangladesh Women overall, among Full Member countries and lost all seven matches.
This includes the two defeats in this competition to Bangladesh and West Indies Women.

Quick Scotland vs South Africa Women’s T20 World Preview
South Africa were one of the two favourites to go through to the semifinals from this group and that opening victory over West Indies Women looked to have sealed that deal.
While they did go down to England in their second encounter, it must be quickly added that they were playing against one of the best teams in the world and their defeat with a mere four balls to spare was an indicator how close things got.
Nonkululeko Mlaba has been the standout bowler for the Proteas with her five wickets and she can be expected to provide the potency to their bowling again. Captain Laura Wolvaardt will be the batter to dislodge early if Scotland want to have a chance.
The problem for Scotland has been their lack of batting incisions at any stage during their innings. Against Bangladesh they failed to get going and fell 16 short of their opponent’s 119. On a better batting surface against West Indies, Scotland were restricted to 99/8.
Can they turn that around and make a match out of this? Seems highly unlikely.
All Eyes On
Saskia Horley has picked up three wickets from the two games but more vitally conceded very few runs and Scotland might want to give her a bit more bowling responsibility. South Africa will look at Marizanne Kapp to tie the opposition batters down.
