What Have The Two Teams Done So Far?
It’s been a strong start for both these teams with South Africa winning two from two while Bangladesh clinching their opener against Sri Lanka.
A win for South Africa will all but get them through to the Super Eight stage while Bangladesh can also nearly seal their berth with that result given they have Netherlands and Nepal next in line.

Bangladesh will be quite chuffed by the manner in which they have started in the competition.
Their rivalry against Sri Lanka has been well-chronicled in the recent past but more vitally, Bangladesh had entered the tournament on the back of defeats at the hands of USA. Their overall T20 record isn’t too great either but they put all of that behind them when they took down Sri Lanka in their opener.
Mustafizur Rahman continued with his IPL form to help his side restrict Sri Lanka to 124/9 and while they slumped to 28/3 at one stage, Bangladesh recovered to get to 91 without any further loss.
A quick loss of wickets pushed them into a familiar position of facing a turnaround defeat but Mahmudullah’s unbeaten 16 pulled them over the line.
South Africa have two in two against Sri Lanka and Netherlands but there are two ways of looking at the results.
One, that of relief given that Sri Lanka can be a tricky opposition and Netherlands have beaten them twice in two ICC events before this.
The other is a bit of a concern given that the margin of wins have been fine.
Against Sri Lanka they were chasing a mere 78 and took 16.2 overs to get to that. Then Netherlands pushed them to the 19th over in their chase of 104.
The good news for South Africa obviously is their bowling which seems to have been assembled for these very conditions. And against a brittle Bangladesh batting it could prove to be too good.
