What Have The Two Teams Done So Far?
Kolkata started things off with three wins from three matches but were then stopped in their tracks by the might of the five-time IPL winners, Chennai Super Kings. They have had a six-day break since that defeat.
On the other hand, Lucknow were beaten in their season-opener before winning three in a row. They could have made it a fourth win too but Delhi Capitals had other ideas.

KKR’s strength lies in their batting and with the likes of Sunil Narine, Phil Salt, Andre Russell and Rinku Singh all capable of destruction, no total is too large for them. That being said, it was seen in their previous game against Chennai Super Kings they can be contained with some intelligent bowling.
The pitch in Chennai was on the slower side there, sure, but Kolkata looked to have misread it badly. They seemed like they were after a total of 200 when 160-170 might have been a match-winning one. In the end they managed just 137.
On the other hand, Lucknow Super Giants looked like they were missing some of their power-packed bowling in the absence of Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan against Delhi.
Yash Thakur was hard to score off again and Ravi Bishnoi grabbed two wickets but with Krunal Pandya going for 45 from his three overs, the target of 168 looked far too little.
What Lucknow will hope for is that one of those bowlers gets back into some sort of rhythm and M Siddharth can take up some more of the left-arm spin bowling.
