The VCA Stadium in Nagpur, which is also called Jamtha, was established in 2008 with India hosting Australia in a Test match here for its very first international game.
With an outfield which is the second longest in dimensions in India, the VCA Stadium replaced the Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground in the same city which had hosted its first ever international in 1965.
Since its establishment and inauguration, the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium has hosted a few Tests and was also one of the main venues during the 2016 T20 World Cup which was entirely hosted in the country.
Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur IPL 2025 Tickets
The VCA Stadium in Nagpur isn’t a home to any of the Indian Premier League teams so far but counting till end of the 2024 edition of the IPL, three matches were hosted at this ground.
All three of these matches came in the 2010 edition of the competition at which Deccan Chargers played their home games here. The Chargers won two of those matches – against RCB and DC – and lost to Rajasthan Royals.
It remains to be seen if any matches for the IPL 2025 will be played here.
Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur International Match Tickets
The VCA Stadium has been the home to many an international matches over the years including at the 2011 World Cup and the 2016 T20 World Cup. Strangely, however, it wasn’t picked to host any of the matches at the 2023 World Cup which was entirely played in India.
An ODI between India and England will be played at the VCA Stadium in 2025. This will be the second match of the three-match series in the lead-up to the Champions Trophy.

Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur Seating Layout
The Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur or as it’s called the Jamtha Stadium has four main stands – North, East, West and South. Each of these stands has different bays associated with it, which includes six bays in the East Stand, five in the West Stand, three at the North Stand and eight in South Stand.
There are 13 separate gates for the entry to these bays.

How do you get to Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur by bus, metro, or train?

If you are travelling from outside the city, you can take a flight that lands at the Nagpur airport. The VCA Stadium in Jamtha is at a distance of 11 km, and you can take a cab from the airport to reach it. You can opt to take a bus from the New Airport Metro Station stop that will take you to the stadium.
The Nagpur Railway Stadium is about 18 km away from the ground. From this station you can take a train to the Khapri station from where you can cab it down to the station.
