What Happened in the 2023 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy?
The 2023 edition of the Rachel Heyhoe Flint Trophy was the third time it was getting played and Southern Vipers successfully defended their title which they had won in 2021 and 2022, making it three in a row for them.
Played as a double-leg round-robin league followed by the playoffs, it saw Southern Vipers top the league stage of the competition with seven wins.
The Blaze and South East Stars came second and third respectively with Southern Vipers pipping The Blaze only on the net run-rate.
In the playoff, The Blaze bowled South East Stars out for 148 and chased down the rain-altered target of 52 with much ease. In the final, however, The Blaze were restricted to a mere 200/8 in the 48 overs which Southern Vipers made in 40.2 overs to grab the title.
