Everything about the CSA T20 Challenge
This was the first ever domestic T20 tournament played in South Africa, having first started in 2003-04. Known by different names in its history, starting with Standard Bank Pro20 Series, MiWay T20 Challenge and the RamSlam T20 Challenge, it is now called the CSA T20 Challenge.
Over the years, six main teams have participated in this tournament, but more teams were added to the fold and this upcoming 2024 edition will be contested by eight sides.
Each team will feature in a one-leg league format, leading to a total of 28 group games which will be followed by three knockout matches – three playoffs and a final.
The 2024 edition of the CSA T20 Challenge begins on September 27 and will go all the way through to October 27 when the final will be played.
CSA T20 Challenge Teams & Squads

What Happened in the 2023-24 CSA T20 Challenge?
Lions won their fifth title at the CSA T20 Challenge by first topping the table at the end of the league stage with 10 wins from 14 matches and then going on to clinch the semifinals and the final to lift the trophy.
Taking on the Titans in their semifinals, the Lions needed only 14.4 overs to get past their opponent’s 131/9 to enter the title decider. In the final, they continued with their brilliant run by chasing down the Dolphins’ 165/8, getting there in a mere 17.4 overs.
What Happened in the 2022-23 CSA T20 Challenge?
Titans won the previous edition of the CSA T20 Challenge by defeating the Dolphins in the final. It was their sixth title victory as they chased down 162 in the final over of their innings.
Earlier, the Titans had finished on the top of the points table with six wins from their seven matches and then crushed the Knights in the semifinal by 38 runs. Dolphins overcame Boland in the other semis.
