Bangladesh to Host Women’s T20 World Cup 2024
The ninth edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, set to take place in Bangladesh in October 2024, will feature Australia as the defending champions.
The tournament will have 10 teams separated into two groups like was the case in the previous edition as well.
Hosts Bangladesh and the top six ranked teams from the 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa qualified directly, with the final 3 spots filled by Pakistan and two other teams from the global qualifying tournament.
The Women’s T20 World Cup promises excitement with new and experienced players.
Favourites include Australia, England with Alice Capsey, India with Shafali Verma and Renuka Singh Thakur, and New Zealand with Sophie Devine and Bernadine Bezuidenhout, aiming for improvement after failing to qualify for the semifinal.

ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 Groups
The teams have been divided into two groups. The top two teams with the most points will advance to the semi-finals. Here’s how the two groups are looking after Sri Lanka and Scotland qualified for the competition from the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier that was held in UAE earlier this year.
- Group A – Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka/Scotland
- Group B – Bangladesh, South Africa, England, West Indies, Sri Lanka/Scotland
ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 Schedule
The 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup will be played between September and October this year. The schedule for this year’s competition has been released and the tournament will begin with a Group B double-header.
This year’s tournament will be held across two venues – the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka and the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet.
