ACC Men’s Premier Cup Format for 2025
Typically speaking, this tournament acts as a qualifier for the next edition of the Asia Cup and is played in an ODI or a T20I format depending on the format of the upcoming Asia Cup.
In 2024, the ACC Men’s Premier Cup was played as a T20I tournament for this very reason.
The tournament had 10 teams, of which eight had made it through on the basis of their rankings and two others qualified through the ACC Men’s Challenger Cup.
These 10 sides were separated into two groups of five apiece and each team played four group games. At the end of the group stage of the competition, the top two from each of them made the semifinals which was followed by the final and a match for the third place playoff.

What Happened in the 2024 ACC Men’s Premier Cup?
The 2024 edition of the ACC Men’s Premier Cup was held in Muscat in Oman with 10 teams participating in the tournament.
Nepal and Hong Kong topped the group A with Hong Kong edging out Qatar on net run-rate and making the semifinals. In Group B, Oman stunned UAE but the two teams qualified for the semifinal anyway with UAE easing to wins in their other matches.
UAE then chased down 120 for a win against Nepal while Oman eased past Hong Kong in their respective semifinals to set up another meeting, this time in the final.
Batting first, UAE compiled 204/4 in their 20 overs thanks to Muhammad Waseem’s unbeaten 100 which proved to be 55 runs too many for their opponents. As a result, UAE won the tournament and qualified for the Asia Cup.
