Delhi Capitals Auction Activity for IPL 2024
Coming into the Delhi squad for the 2024 edition of the IPL was Harry Brook, who was purchased for a mere INR 4 crore. He could go on to become one of Delhi’s most solid buys in the years to come.
Also making it to the Capitals’ team is under-19 wicket-keeper Kumar Kushagra, who was purchased for INR 7.2 crore – a stunning choice for that price given he has barely done anything of note at any level of cricket. Another good buy for Delhi is Jhye Richardson, who cost them INR 5 crore.
Other than that, they would be pleased with Shai Hope joining their line-up for a mere INR 75 lakh and the likes of Tristan Stubbs, Ricky Bhui, Rasikh Dar, Sumit Kumar and Swastik Chhikara, all of whom came at their base price.
It must be said that Delhi Capitals made some solid purchases during the IPL 2024 auction but the big question is if that will be enough.
The Delhi Capital team has never won an IPL title despite having a strong roster in the past. Although they have come close in recent years, they have been unable to overcome the pressure of the playoffs.
It remains to be seen if Rishabh Pant will come back for the IPL 2024 after suffering injuries in a car crash on December 30, 2022.

Delhi Capitals suffered because of the absence of their talisman batter Rishabh Pant as they finished the season with just five wins from their 14 matches.
At one stage, it looked like they would struggle to get going with a victory when they lost their first five matches in the tournament. While they came back to win five matches from their next nine games, that was too little too late as they finished ninth on the table.
