Six England players were picked up at the 2024 IPL Auction to go with a score of others who were retained by their respective teams in the lead-up to that. And to go with that there will be an Ireland player who will take part in this year’s IPL as well.
Here’s the list of all the England players who will participate in the 2024 IPL.
England Player Name | IPL Team |

Tom Kohler-Cadmore | Rajasthan Royals |
Tom Curran | Royal Challengers Bangalore |
David Willey | Lucknow Super Giants |
Gus Atkinson | Kolkata Knight Riders |

Jason Roy | Kolkata Knight Riders |
Mark Wood | Lucknow Super Giants |
Liam Livingstone | Punjab Kings |
Jonny Bairstow | Punjab Kings |
Sam Curran | Punjab Kings |

Will Jacks | Royal Challengers Bangalore |
Reece Topley | Royal Challengers Bangalore |
While a few England players like Luke Wood, Tymal Mills, Adil Rashid and the shocker of them all, Phil Salt, went unsold at the IPL 2024 auction, there were quite a few others who did get willing buyers at the auction.
Among those England players who were bought at this year’s auction were fast bowler Gus Atkinson, medium-pace all-rounders Chris Woakes and Tom Curran, left-arm pacer David Willey, keeper-batsman Tom Kohler-Cadmore and hard-hitting batter Harry Brook.
Despite poor form at the 2023 World Cup, Woakes was sold to the Punjab Kings for a solid INR 4.25 crore, while rising star Harry Brook went to the Delhi Capitals for a sum of INR 4 crore.
Willey’s retirement from England cricket makes him a tempting option for the IPL teams and at INR 2 crore, he might have been a good buy by the Lucknow Super Giants. Tom Curran was sold for INR 1.5 crore while upcoming fast bowler Gus Atkinson went for INR 1 crore.
The one player not too many have heard of is Tom Kohler-Cadmore, who has been involved in more than 150 T20s in the lead-up to his maiden IPL journey.
Other than those picked in this year’s IPL auction, there have been a few others retained by their respective teams as well.
Moeen Ali, for instance, continues to find favour with Chennai Super Kings while Jason Roy’s hard-hitting skills at the top of the order will be wanted by Kolkata Knight Riders.
Mark Wood will hope he can continue to crank up his pace with the Lucknow Super Kings while Punjab Kings have got in all-rounders Liam Livingstone, Jonny Bairstow and Sam Curran.
It will be interesting to see how they fit them all in the XI.
Jos Buttler will hope to put the disappointment of a shoddy World Cup showing behind him when he turns up for Rajasthan Royals while Royal Challengers Bangalore have opted to retain Will Jacks and Reece Topley in their line-up.
Ireland Player Name | IPL Team |
---|---|
Josh Little | Gujarat Titans |
The only player from Ireland who will make his appearance at the IPL in 2024 will be Josh Little. Little was retained by Gujarat Titans for his fast bowling skills.
