Everything about the GT20 2025
We are still awaiting information regarding the 2025 edition of the Global T20 Canada. This is how things were in the previous edition.
Six teams will feature in this year’s GT20 with each side playing seven matches apiece. This will be possible with a team playing three of the other teams in the group stages on one occasion and two other teams two times each.
The six teams that will feature in the 2024 edition of the Global T20 Canada competition include:

What Happened in the 2024 Global T20 Canada?
It was Toronto Nationals who clinched the 2024 edition of the Global T20 Canada and by doing so had managed to win their first-ever title.
Toronto, who finished fourth on the points table at the end of the league stage of the competition with seven points, were awarded a walkover in the Eliminator by Bangla Tigers Mississauga in a bizarre turn of events.
Their match looked like it was going to be abandoned due to rain which would have allowed the Bangla Tigers team to go through but the umpires decided there would be a Super Over Eliminator that would take place to decide the winner. Shakib al Hasan did not take to the field in protest against that call and was knocked out as a result.
Toronto went on to beat Brampton in the second Qualifier before crushing the Montreal Tigers in the final with five overs and eight wickets still standing.
What Happened in the 2023 Global T20 Canada?
Montreal Tigers won their maiden Global T20 Canada title by beating Surrey Jaguars in the final after having finished third in the group stage of the competition.
With four wins from seven matches, the Tigers were nudged outside the top two spots on net run rate but they came back strongly to beat Brampton Wolves in the Eliminator, and Vancouver Knights in the second Qualifier before easing past Surrey Jaguars in the title decider.
The Tigers were aided in their effort by their batters with Chris Lynn and Sherfane Rutherford top-scoring in the tournament, while their best bowler was Carlos Brathwaite who grabbed 11 wickets.
