Chennai Super Kings continue to remain in with a solid chance to make it to the playoffs having climbed up to fourth on the IPL 2024 points table.
The Titans have eight points from 11 games which means even if they win all their remaining matches they will need some help from other results to even think of a chance. Oh, and they are 10th on the table!

You can never keep Chennai out of the equation and this was visible in their game against Punjab Kings. The Super Kings fans would be a tad disheartened to see former captain MS Dhoni walk out to bat at eight and get out first ball, but the win that followed meant Chennai might not have a very difficult path to the playoffs.

The story has been a shoddy one for the Titans.
Captain Shubman Gill had said to commentator Harsha Bhogle in a post-match interview that nobody can count Gujarat out after a close win over Rajasthan but since then they have won just one of the matches they have played.
The absence of Hardik Pandya and Mohammad Shami has obviously been felt but their batting has looked almost non-existent with Gill struggling with the bat.
They don’t have a lot of time to do anything drastic but it might not be a bad idea to try out newer ideas, even if it means they will need to drop the likes of Mohit Sharma or Wriddhiman Saha.
