When will the 2025 IPL be Played?

The entire IPL 2024 schedule was released in parts because of the general elections in the country. The 2024 IPL started on Friday, March 22 with the defending champions Chennai Super Kings taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opener.

The rest of the schedule for the 2024 IPL was out on March 25 and saw Punjab Kings taking on Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders playing Sunrisers Hyderabad on day two.

A total of 70 league matches will be played in 2025 as well, with the 10 teams divided into two groups.

The tournament this season will continue to follow a home-and-away format, with each team playing seven home and seven away games.

Looking Back at the 2024 IPL

The Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders made it their third IPL win when they overcame the tournament batting giants Sunrisers Hyderabad in what turned out to be a one-sided final.

After bowling SRH out for 113, the Knight Riders romped home to a win with 57 balls to clinch the victory.
