Kolkata Knight Riders Auction Activity for IPL 2024
Not much has happened in the KKR camp in the lead-up to the IPL 2024 auction. Gautam Gambhir has joined the Knight Riders though as a mentor.
They had hired Chandrakant Pandit as their new head coach last season and made a few trades in the transfer market at a cost of only 8 crores INR.
During the IPL 2024 auction, however, Kolkata Knight Riders created history when they spent nearly INR 25 crore on Mitchell Starc to try and bolster their bowling attack.
Thanks to that pick, KKR weren’t left with a lot of money to go after some of the other top players but they still managed to make a few vital purchases.
Afghan mystery spinner Mujeeb ur Rahman was purchased for INR 2 crore while England seamer Gus Atkinson made it to the squad for INR 1 crore. Sherfane Rutherford, a hard-hitting Windies batter also came in for INR 1.5 crore in the process.

What Happened in IPL 2023?
Kolkata Knight Riders did not have the greatest of starts to the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League as they fell to five defeats from their first seven matches.
While they added four more wins in the latter half of the season, the Knight Riders’ 12 points meant they could finish only seventh in the tournament and crashed out of the tournament, falling way short of the 16 points needed to make it through to the playoffs.
