New Zealand were coming into this series with the kind of confidence that no other team has had in more than 12 years. Because they became the first team in 12 years to win a series in India.
Not just that, New Zealand were coming off a 2-0 rout at the hands of Sri Lanka and then turned it around to win 3-0 against the mighty Indians.

England have had a very up and down time in Tests recently with the ups having come at home and the downs having been away.
