Sunrisers Hyderabad Auction Activity for IPL 2024
After having undergone sweeping changes for the 2023 IPL season with more than 10 new players replacing those from the 2022 season, the Hyderabad side made a few solid purchases in the 2024 auction.
Their biggest buy during the auction was someone who became the biggest purchase of the entire IPL starting from the first season – Aussie captain Pat Cummins. The Hyderabad franchise spent INR 20.5 crore on Cummins and while that record was immediately broken by the Starc purchase, it gives them an additional captaincy option.
Cummins was later named the captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad for the 2024 season.
Also making the SRH squad through the IPL 2024 auction was Travis Head, an Aussie batter who can bat at the top of the order like David Warner once did for them. Add that to his part-time off-spin bowling and Hyderabad might have just got themselves a diamond for the years to come.
