Everything about the TNPL 2024
The Tamil Nadu Premier League is one of the state-run T20 tournaments played in the same format as the Indian Premier League. Having first begun in 2016, the tournament has been played every season bar 2020 when it was cancelled because of the pandemic.
Chepauk Super Gillies enter the 2024 edition of the TNPL as the most successful side, having won the title four times. In the 2023 season, however. Chepauk failed to reach the playoffs stage, finishing fifth on the points table.
They were usurped by the eventual champions Lyca Kovai Kings who made the final four along with Dindigul Dragons, Nellai Royal Kings and Siechem Madurai Panthers.

What Happened in the Previous TNPL?
Lyca Kovai Kings won the 2023 edition of the TNPL by first finishing at the top of the points table and then defeating Dindigul Dragons and Nellai Royal Kings in successive playoffs matches to lift the title.
The eventual winners weren’t tested in either of the matches, winning by 30 and 104 runs respectively.
Earlier, they tied with Dindigul Dragons with six wins from seven matches in the group stage of the competition but nudged them to the second spot on account of a superior net run-rate. Nellai Royal Kings (with five wins) and Madurai Panthers (with four) finished third and fourth respectively.
