What Have The Two Teams Done Recently?
USA
USA had entered this competition on the back of a T20I series they played against Nepal and rather surprisingly lost it 3-0 (including a tied game that went into a Super Over). They had gone into that series as a favourite following their recent cricketing exploits.
Following the first three matches here, USA’s overall ODI win-loss record of 29-31having won four successive matches against UAE and Namibia in the previous set of matches in the ICC WCL League 2.
At the start of this tri-series they were second on the points table with 12 points from eight matches but have now lost two of the three matches to get up to 14 rom 11 matches.
Nepal
Nepal have played 70 ODIs in their short international cricket history and are on 35-34 win-loss with one game tied. Interestingly that tied game came against USA in 2022, following which they also played out a tie in a recent T20I between the two sides.

The second leg started on a similar note what with USA falling prey to Scotland’s powerful batting as they lost by 71 runs in a chase of 318.
On the other hand, they will come up against Nepal with some confidence having gotten the better of them in the opening leg. The big question that remains, however, is can their bowling do a better job at restricting their opponents.
