What Have The Two Teams Done So Far?
Rajasthan Royals have been the surprise package of the competition and currently they have eight wins from 10 matches to hold the top spot in the IPL 2024 points table. The Delhi Capitals had made a slow start to the competition but with four wins from their last six matches, they are on 10 points and at the sixth spot.

Delhi have been on a bit of a break having last played on April 29 – more than a week ago. They were roundly beaten in that encounter by Kolkata Knight Riders but this week-long break would have helped them recharge their batteries in a tournament that doesn’t allow such luxuries.
But they would now be taking field against a team even stronger than Kolkata, at least going by what we have seen so far.
And that’s where the Capitals will hope to use their new-found confidence to try and disrupt their opposition rhythm. Jake Fraser-McGurk, for instance, now knows he won’t be playing in the T20 World Cup and that should free him up even more.
Rishabh Pant has already proved he has regained full fitness but he would love to go into that same World Cup with a knock of substance. And then there’s David Warner who hasn’t quite gotten going.
On the other side is batting line-up which can take down any bowling on a good day. And probably on a bad one too. Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal have both hit 100s, Sanju Samson has displayed the kind of consistency he hadn’t earlier and Riyan Parag has chipped in whenever needed.
Where things deviate for the two teams is their bowling – Rajasthan clearly has a better line-up on paper and on the field and unless Delhi can ruffle a few early feathers against the likes of Trent Boult, Sandeep Sharma and Yuzi Chahal, this could be headed one way.
