What is the BPL T20?
The BPL T20 or the Bangladesh Premier League competition is a T20 tournament that is organised by the Bangladesh cricket board in their country.
First held in 2012, it has seen a different number of teams participate in the competition over the years with the 2025 edition being its 11th. While it has had its share of controversies, the Bangladesh Premier League has survived the test of time and will see seven teams participate in a group-cum-playoffs format.

What Happened in the Previous Edition of the Bangladesh Premier League?
Fortune Barishal won three matches in a row during the playoffs to clinch the 2024 edition of the Bangladesh Premier League. First, they knocked out Chattogram Challengers in the Eliminator by seven wickets and with 31 balls to spare before crushing Rangpur Riders in the second Qualifier.
In the final, Barishal chased down the 155 target set by Comilla Victorians to win the match by six wickets and with an over to spare.
Rangpur Riders had finished the league stage of the competition with 18 points and ended up being top of the table while at the second spot was Comilla Victorians with 16. Fortune Barishal and Chattogram Challengers ended up with 14 apiece.
This was Fortune Barishal’s maiden title.
