What Have The Two Teams Done So Far?
Having scraped through to the Super Eights stage of the competition, England looked to have made a sterling start to it by shocking the West Indies side in their opener here but were then edged out by South Africa in the second.
USA have lost to both, South Africa and West Indies and it has now begun to look like the initial sheen from being a surprise performer has worn off.
They might have outside chance of making the semifinals here but those two defeats and another one in the first round to India has meant their confidence would have also taken some battering.

England would be regretting their performance in their previous game against South Africa. In a chase of 164, they were sitting pretty at 139/4 in 17.1 overs, needing 25 from 17 and should have won it 95 times out of 100.

USA’s only chance to qualify for the semis comes from needing to win big, like really big and then hope for South Africa to beat WI big too and leapfrog both England and WI on the NRR.
With that clearly being a tough ask, what USA would like to realistically do is two things – play party-poopers but also try and collect another Test-playing scalp after having defeated Pakistan earlier.
