What Have The Two Teams Done So Far?
Having qualified for the Super Eights without a defeat, India kick-started their Super Eights campaign with a resounding victory over Afghanistan. That not only gave them the all-important two points but also carried their net run-rate in the Super Eights stage to +2.35.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, were roundly beaten by Australia in their opener here, having made it through to this second round at the expense of Sri Lanka and Netherlands.
They are -2.471 on the net run-rate.

India exhibited the sort of clinical finesse in their opening game against Afghanistan that would send warning signs to all their opponents.
Batting first in a day game after having won the toss, they overcame a slow start and the loss of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to pile up 181/8 in their 20 overs.
Most batters chipped in but the honour of leading the team to that kind of a score went to Suryakumar Yadav, who scored a fairly quick fifty and went on to win the man-of-the-match award.
On that kind of a Barbados surface and against a line-up led by Jasprit Bumrah, it was too big a score and Afghanistan were bowled out for 134 in response. Bumrah finished with a startling 3/7 from his four overs.
All that’s now needed from India is for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to return to batting form and this could well be their tournament to lose.
Bangladesh did not have as much success in their opener.
Batting first after losing the toss, Bangladesh were restricted to a mere 140/8 thanks to a Pat Cummins hattrick. The damage, however, had been done long before that, with Bangladesh having slumped to 103/5 in 16.1 overs on a fairly docile pitch.
That they got to 140 was due credit to some lusty hitting at the end by Towhid Hridoy and Taskin Ahmed but that was never going to be enough.
When rain stopped play, Australia were 100/2 in 11.2 overs, 28 ahead on the DLS method and that meant that Bangladesh had not just lost the game but fallen down drastically on the net run-rate.
They will need to do a lot better against another in-form team in India.
