Everything about the Lanka Premier League 2025
The Lanka Premier League is a franchise-based T20 competition which is held in Sri Lanka. It was first played in 2020, replacing the original Sri Lanka Premier League which was held in 2012 before getting cancelled permanently.
Five teams, representing the regions of Kandy, Jaffna, Colombo, Dambulla and Galle feature in the Lanka Premier League every year. Teams have changed hands between owners for a variety of reasons in its short history so far.

What Happened in the Lanka Premier League 2024?
Rilee Rossouw slammed a man-of-the-match-winning century in the final to help the Jaffna Kings defeat Galle Marvels to win the 2024 edition of the Lanka Premier League. The Marvels pulled off a score of 184/6 in their 20 overs before the Kings chased it down in a mere 15.4 overs to clinch the title.
This was after Galle Marvels and Jaffna Kings finished one-two on the points table while Colombo Strikers and Kandy Falcons finished third and fourth.
Galle defeated Jaffna in the first qualifier while Kandy overcame Colombo in the Eliminator. In the second qualifier, Jaffna edged out Kandy by a single run to enter the final.
What Happened in the Lanka Premier League 2023?
Dambulla Aura finished at the top of the points table with 12 points from their eight games, having won six of their matches.
They beat the second-placed Galle Titans in the first playoff game by six wickets and with two balls to spare to make the final.
In the Eliminator, B-Love Kandy crushed Jaffna Kings by 61 runs to set up a clash with the Kandy guys. Kandy racked up 157/7 in their 20 overs allowing them to overcome the Titans by 34 runs to enter the final.
The final saw Dambulla make 147/4 in their 20 overs and needing 16 from the final two overs, Angelo Matthews guided them to the win with a ball to spare.
