What Have The Two Teams Done So Far?
South Africa were one of the first teams to qualify for the Super Eight stage, having won three from three.
They had started off with a grinding win against Sri Lanka before edging out Netherlands in their second match. In the third, Bangladesh had a good chance of upsetting them but the Proteas held on to clinch a four-run win.
Nepal have featured in two games so far with a fighting loss to Netherlands in their opener and seeing their second game against Sri Lanka getting washed out.

Nepal haven’t got a chance to show what they are capable of in the tournament.
This has been down to their struggles on a difficult Dallas pitch in their opener against Netherlands in which they made just 106. While they put up a bit of a fight with the ball thanks to Sompal Kami (1/18 from his four) and Sagar Dhakal who conceded just 21 from his four, there wasn’t enough on the board to test the Dutch.
And then they saw their second game against Sri Lanka in Florida getting rained off.
Unfortunately for them they will enter this game against the mighty Saffers with not a lot of batting practice and with a lot of travel across the American continent.
South Africa don’t need that handicap anyway given the manner in which they have performed so far.
Their bowling has been top-notch with even Keshav Maharaj joining in the fun last game as he finished with figures of 3/27 from his four against a spin-happy Bangladesh side.
Add Anrich Nortje’s eight wickets at 5.37 and an ER of 3.58 in the tournament to the mix and you have a potent combination as far as their bowling is concerned.
While South Africa, like everyone else has struggled with the batting on American pitches, they have enough firepower to blow opponents out on decent tracks. And that’s what we expect would happen here.
