Everything about the Zim Afro T10 League 2025
What is the Zim Afro T10? In this ever-changing world of cricket, the Zim Afro T10 League is one of the newest cricket tournaments that was introduced to the fans in 2023. As the name suggests it’s a 10-over-a-side competition that has seen some of the best players sign up with it.
In the 2023 edition of the competition there were five teams which participated in the competition. In 2024, not only have there been a couple of changes to the names but a sixth team was also added to the tournament.
Here are the six sides that took part in 2024:
- Durban Wolves
- Joburg Bangla Tigers
- Cape Town Samp Army
- Harare Bolts
- Bulawayo Braves Jaguars
- NYS Lagos
Over the period of these nine days, we can expect each team to play seven games in the season. The top four of the six teams then make the playoffs with the usual Eliminator-Qualifier 1-Qualifier 2 format leading to the format.
Teams ranked third and fourth will face off in the Eliminator with the losing team getting knocked out. The winner of the Qualifier between the top two sides will make the final while the loser will face the winner of the Eliminator in a game that’s termed the second Qualifier.
The winner of this match will then make the final.

We are still awaiting the schedule for the 2025 edition of the Zim Afro T10 League. The 2024 edition was held between September 21 and 29, 2024.

What Happened in the 2024 Edition of the Zim Afro T10?
Joburg Bangla Tigers won a close final to clinch the title for the first time. Batting first against Cape Town Samp Army, the Bangle Tigers made 129/5 from their 10 overs thanks to a 25-ball 44 off the bat of Mohammad Shahzad.
In response, Dawid Malan smashed 62 off 28 balls and Jack Taylor hit back to back sixes off the first two balls of the final over but Cape Town made just three runs off the next four balls. They fell five short.
This was after JBT made it to the Qualifiers and defeated Harare Bolts in that game. Cape Town overcame NYS Lagos in the Eliminator and then made it past the Bolts in the second Qualifier to enter the final.
