Everything about the Zim Afro T10 League 2024
What is the Zim Afro T10? In this ever-changing world of cricket, the Zim Afro T10 League is one of the newest cricket tournaments that was introduced to the fans in 2023. As the name suggests it’s a 10-over-a-side competition that has seen some of the best players sign up with it.
Much like the 2023 edition, we can expect the same five teams to take part in the 2024 competition as well and according to some news sources, this tournament will be held between September 21 and 29 this year.
Over the period of these nine days, we can expect a double-leg round-robin league with each team playing a total of eight games in the season. The top four of the five teams then make the playoffs with the usual Eliminator-Qualifier 1-Qualifier 2 format leading to the format.
Teams ranked third and fourth will face off in the Eliminator with the losing team getting knocked out. The winner of the Qualifier between the top two sides will make the final while the loser will face the winner of the Eliminator in a game that’s termed the second Qualifier.
The winner of this match will then make the final.

What Happened in the Previous Edition of the Zim Afro T10?
In what turned out to be a close group stage of the competition, Durban Qalandars topped the points table with five wins from eight games while the next three teams – Joburg Buffaloes, Harare Hurricanes, Cape Town Samp Army – all finished on four victories. Bulawayo Braves were knocked out of the competition in the group stages with three wins.
The Buffaloes then defeated the Qalandars in the first Qualifier in a game that went right down to the wire – with one ball to spare – to make the final. Harare easily knocked Cape Town to set up a second Qualifier match against the Qalandars.
In this encounter, the Hurricanes were kept down to a mere 82/8 before Durban chased it down in 8.4 overs. And then in the final, Durban Qalandars needed only 9.2 overs to avenge their previous defeat to Joburg.
