Established in the early part of 2000, the Holkar Stadium in Indore has hosted a plethora of international matches. Earlier known as the Maharani Usharaje Trust Cricket Ground, the stadium was renamed to its current self in 2010.
It replaced the Nehru Stadium in the same city which used to host international matches till 2001, having hosted ODIs from all the way back in 1983.
The Holkar Stadium is built on a piece of land which had earlier seen the Holkar Ranji Trophy team win the domestic title a few times during their time as one of the sides featuring in first-class cricket.
The stadium had hosted a total of ODIs till 2015 before making its debut as a Test match venue in 2017 when India played New Zealand in a game here. In 2017, the first-ever T20I was played at this venue.
Holkar Stadium, Indore IPL 2025 Tickets
The Holkar Stadium in Indore has hosted a few Indian Premier League matches in the past. In fact, till the end of the 2024 edition of the IPL, there have been a total of nine games featured in this competition.
Kochi Tuskers were the home team for two of those matches in 2011 before Punjab Kings used this venue to host some of their matches between the 2017 and 2018 season of the IPL.
It remains to be seen if any matches for the IPL 2025 will be played here.
Holkar Stadium, Indore International Match Tickets
We are still awaiting information on the next international match that could be played at this ground in the future. In the past, till the end of the 2024 calendar year, 14 internationals have been held at this venue.
The first of these games came in 2006 when England toured India. India had won that series 5-1 which included a win at the Holkar Stadium by seven wickets. These two teams met again in 2008 and India came away a winner yet again.
In 2016, this stadium became the newest to host a Test when New Zealand featured in a game here while in December 2017, a T20I was hosted here in which India defeated Sri Lanka easily.

If you are travelling from outside the city, you can take a flight that lands at the Indore airport. The Holkar Stadium is less than 10 km away, and you can take a cab from the airport to reach it.
An even better option is to take a train to the Indore Railway Stadium from where this stadium is less than 10 minutes away by cab.
